Dating Dilemma: What Type of Guys Should an Introvert Go Out With?

Are you a wallflower at most any party? Do you shy away from being in crowds? Are you more inclined to stay home and read a book rather than going out with friends? If the answer to any of these questions is “yes”, you may be an introvert. If so, here are five types of guys you’ll be most likely to do best with:

The Livewire

If you AREN’T the life of the party, you may do well with a guy who is. At least you won’t be competing for the crowd’s attention. It is said that “opposites attract” and this match made in heaven is one good example of that. You may find that when you date an extrovert, you get the benefits of being outgoing, like being known and meeting interesting people, without having to force yourself to be extroverted yourself.

The Grateful Guy

Going out with a guy who is grateful that you’ll go out with him means you are valued and appreciated as a person, not just for having a certain personality. This kind of guy has an appreciation of humans in general. He covets relationships for what they are – a chance for two people to get to know one another, warts and all. A Grateful Guy isn’t a looser just because he has gratitude for dates with you – far from it. He’s a mature individual who is able to look beyond the box to find a treasure.

The Phlegmatic

Phlegmatic individuals are easy going. They are generally happy to be in a relationship with an introvert…or an extrovert. Not much gets under their skin and they never try to control or change a person they are dating because they are able to see any cup half full. They thrive on finding the best in every situation and in every human being. A phlegmatic is perfect for an extrovert because they place no expectations on you. They live and let be and encourage you to do the same.

The Sensitive One

Sensitive guys get a bad rap. They are known for wearing their hearts on their sleeves and are sometimes accused of being less than manly. The truth of the matter is that they are typically more masculine that a “man’s man” because they aren’t afraid to feel and to express themselves. This type of a person can bring out the best in introverts, especially if your introvert nature is partly due to the fear of being rejected as is sometimes the case. You may do very well with a man who will find your quiet side priceless.

The Introvert

While you might think that dating another introvert would be a disaster, you might be shocked to learn that another introvert might be your best bet. The two of you are likely to have many things in common. Who says you have to go to the party? There’s nothing wrong with staying home on a Friday night and curling up together with a good movie…or even a book. Sometimes, similar people attract. If you get the chance, you might try it.

Being an introvert is only one characteristic you have. There are many other traits that make up your personality type. There may be underlying reasons for your subdued nature. Many factors should be taken into consideration when you decide what type of guy to go out with and…to not go out with. Choose carefully. Never settle and you’ll be fine.
